Dieses Gebäude entstand auch im Ergebnis von Forschungen zu Hochhäusern mit Stahlrohrtragwerken und zu den von Richard Buckminster Fuller angestrebten erdbebensicheren Konstruktionen, die in den 70er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts begannen. Die technische Forschung und die Raumforschung ermöglichen hier einen Komfort der Atmosphäre - Licht, Belüftung, Temperatur usw. - und einen deutlich geringeren Energieverbrauch.
