This large stadium built in a dense urban area is designed to be a living place at any time of the year. Partially sunk in the ground, the stadium is visible only through its steel roof which offers a cover for 33 000 spectators. The circular cantilevered roof seems to float as an atoll above the seats, only supported by a pairs of dynamic columns tilted outwards. The complex structure of the roof and the delicate erection process on the site are no longer visible in the final result, which stands as a free standing canopy, perfectly integrated in the surrounding cityscape.

Ce grand stade construit au sein d'une zone urbaine dense a pour ambition d'être un lieu de vie à tout moment de l'année. Partiellement décaissé dans le sol, le stade est uniquement visible à travers son toit d'acier qui offre une protection à 33 000 spectateurs. Le toit circulaire en porte à faux donne l'impression de flotter tel un atoll parmi les sièges, seulement soutenu par des paires de colonnes dynamiques, inclinées vers l'extérieur. La structure complexe du toit et le processus de montage délicat n'apparaissent nullement dans le résultat final, qui se présente< comme une canopée libre, parfaitement intégrée à l'environnement urbain alentour.

Dieses große Stadion in einem dicht besiedelten Stadtteil wurde für eine ganzjährige Nutzung entworfen und ist teilweise unter Straßenniveau abgesenkt, so dass nur das Stahldach sichtbar ist, das 33.000 Zuschauern eine Überdachung bietet. Das die Tribünen überdeckende Dach scheint wie ein Atoll über den Sitzplätzen zu schweben und wird lediglich von jeweils zwei dynamisch wirkenden, nach außen geneigten Pylonen getragen. Die komplexe Dachkonstruktion und der nicht minder komplizierte Montageprozess sind am fertigen Bauwerk nicht mehr ablesbar. Die freischwebende Überdachung des Stadions passt sich harmonisch in die umliegende Stadtlandschaft ein.
