ECCS Awards for steel bridges 2008 Jury's comments: This renovation of an outstanding historical bridge, built in the end of the 19th century by Theophile Seyrig, Eiffel's former associate, is distinguished for the very careful attention taken to the old riveted structures, which integrity has been maintained, and the use of modern technology to strengthen and bring this bridge to a new life.
