Asymmetric all steel cable-stayed 90 metres bridge supported by twin inclined cigar-shaped masts rising up to 47 metres. With this Y-shape the architect solved the requirements of a free sailing profile under the bridge of 6 x 15 m (height x width) and a user friendly slope for pedestrians and wheelchair users. The compressive force from the main span is shared between the two side spans and their abutments, providing significant lateral stiffness and stability. Main span girder : two parallel steel tubes ø 620x20 with a 4 m wide steel deck spanning across, carried by 2x8 stay-cables. Side span girders : one steel tube ø 620x40 with a cantilevered 3 m deck, carried eccentrically by 2x4 stays-cables. Torsion moment of the tube is transmitted to the abutments and to a solid crossbeam where the two side spans meet the main span.This bridge was built in total compliance with the requirements of sustainable development, combining fast erection and limited impact on the environment.

Le plan en forme de Y, original et asymétrique de ce pont est dessiné pour faciliter le lien entre le centre-ville et le parc qui s'étend sur l'autre rive. Le pont à haubans tout en acier de 90 mètres, est soutenu par des pylônes jumeaux, en forme de cigares inclinés hauts de 47 mètres. Cette forme aide à intégrer le pont au paysage de la rivière et permet à la fois la navigation et une traversée calme pour les piétons. Un éclairage approprié souligne l'élégance du pont la nuit et souligne la forme pointue des pylônes. Ce pont a été construit en totale conformité avec les exigences du développement durable, combinant un montage rapide et un impact limité sur l'environnement.

Der asymmetrische und Y-förmige Grundriss dieser Brücke wurde entworfen, um eine bessere Verbindung zwischen dem Stadtzentrum und dem Park auf der gegenüberliegenden Uferseite zu schaffen. Die 90 m lange Schrägseilbrücke aus Stahl wird von zwei geneigten, zigarrenförmigen, 47 Meter hohen Pylonen getragen. Dadurch wird die Brücke harmonisch in die Flusslandschaft eingegliedert und ermöglicht sowohl eine freie Durchfahrt der Schiffe als auch einen komfortablen Übergang für Fußgänger. Die Beleuchtung der Brücke unterstreicht deren Eleganz bei Nacht und unterstützt gelungen die Wirkung der spitz zulaufenden Pylone. Die Brücke wurde in voller Übereinstimmung mit den Regeln des nachhaltigen Bauens errichtet.

ECCS Awards for steel bridges Jury comments: In the heart of the city of Drammen, this asymmetric bridge with a central double pylon provides a new monument to the city while fulfilling the many requirements of such a location.
