New extension of the Justice Palace originally built in 1973 in weathering steel, this new facility encircles the old courthouse and provides a link between the existing buildings. It is organized as a square built on slender steel columns giving free access to the ground floor. Two 100 metres towers complete the scheme. This straightforward concept provides a spatial unity and a new dignity to this important European institution. The delicate use of materials, particularly of steel, gives a touch of lyrism to this consistent "collage".

Nouvelle extension de la Cour de Justice des Communautés Européennes, originellement construite en 1973 en acier autopatinable, ce nouvel aménagement encercle l'ancienne cour et fournit un lien entre les bâtiments existants. Il est organisé tel un square construit sur de fines colonnes d'acier, donnant un accès libre au rez-de-chaussée. Deux tours de 100 mètres complètent le plan. Ce concept simple confère une unité spatiale et une nouvelle dignité à cette importante institution européenne. L'usage délicat des matériaux, en particulier l'acier, donne une touche de lyrisme à ce " collage " cohérent.

Als Erweiterung des Justizpalastes, 1973 aus witterungsbeständigem Stahl gebaut, umgibt diese neue Anlage den alten Gerichtshof und verbindet die bestehenden Gebäude miteinander. Der quadratische Bau wurde auf schlanken Stahlstützen errichtet, und gewährt damit den freien und transparenten Zugang. Zwei 100 m hohe Türme vervollständigen den Komplex. So schafft dieses klare Konzept für diese wichtige europäische Institution eine räumliche Einheit und verleiht ihr eine neue Würde. Die mit großer Sorgfalt gewählten Baumaterialien, insbesondere der Stahl, verleihen der „Collage” einen Hauch von Poesie.
