An architectural feat, Beaubourg is a "living space that can grow in the enjoyment of its history". Visible, its steel skeleton is made of a thousand custom-made parts including the famous "beam hanger": a moulded steel link suspended by tie rods that attach the beams to the columns without any break in the load and release the area required for circulating across the façade. Compression tubes, tension rods, moulded components, bracing crosses combined with fluid and visitor circulation ducts define the building's identity, in which the expression of the construction and technical systems is an integral part of the architectural design.

Als ein Wunder der Architektur ist das Centre Pompidou ein " Lebensraum, der sich im Genuss seiner Geschichte weiterentwickeln kann ". Sein sichtbares Stahlskelett besteht aus Tausenden maßgeschneiderten Bauteilen, einschließlich der berühmten " Gerberettes " : eine Schubstange aus Stahlformguss, die an Zugankern aufgehängt ist und die Träger mit den Pfeilern gelenkartig verbindet, ohne Lastunterbrechung sowie den notwendigen Platz für die außenliegende Infrastruktur schafft. Rohre, Stangen, Stahlformgussteile, Aussteifungskreuze, aber auch außenliegende Versorgungseinrichtungen für die Klimatisierung, Beheizung, Belüftung sowie Lifte und Rolltreppen machen die Identität dieses Gebäudes aus. Hier sind die konstruktiven und technischen Vorrichtungen integrierender Bestandteil der Architektur.

Prodige d'architecture, Beaubourg est " un espace vivant qui peut se développer dans la jouissance de son histoire ". Visible, son squelette d'acier est fait d'un millier de pièces créées sur mesure dont la fameuse " gerberette " : bielle en acier moulé suspendue par des tirants qui articule les poutres aux poteaux sans rupture de charge et dégage l'espace nécessaire aux circulations en façade. Tubes en compression, barres en tension, éléments moulés, croix de contreventement mais aussi gaines de circulations des fluides et des personnes constituent l'identité de ce bâtiment, où l'expression des dispositifs constructifs et techniques est partie intégrante de l'architecture.
