The largest suspension bridge in Europe over the Great Belt Strait is part of an impressive array of civil structures totalling 18 kilometres in length and designed to connect the Jutland Peninsula with Zealand Island on which Copenhagen is located. With its 1624-metre span and concrete pylons standing 254 metres high, the East Bridge is particularly spectacular. The deck is a steel box girder. The generally very sculptural and scale-free forms involved numerous preliminary models.

Die größte Hängebrücke Europas an der Meerenge des Großen Belt ist Teil einer Reihe von eindrucksvollen Ingenieurbauten, die insgesamt über 18 km zwischen der Halbinsel von Jutland bis zur Zeland Insel - dort wo Kopenhagen liegt - überspannen. Mit einer Spannweite von 1 624 m und ihren 254 m hohen Pylonen (aus Beton) ist die Ostbrücke ganz besonders beeindruckend. Die Fahrbahntafel besteht aus einem Stahlcaisson. Die ausgesprochen skulpturalen Formen wurden vor dem Bau an zahlreichen Modellen getestet.

Le plus grand pont suspendu d'Europe sur le détroit du Grand Belt fait partie d'un impressionnant ensemble d'ouvrages d'art totalisant plus 18 km destiné à relier la péninsule du Jutland avec l'île de Zélande où se trouve Copenhague. Avec sa portée de 1 624 m et ses pylônes (en béton) hauts de 254 m, le pont de l'Est est particulièrement spectaculaire. Le tablier est un caisson en acier. Les formes générales très sculpturales et sans échelle ont fait l'objet de nombreuses maquettes préliminaires.
