The project contributes an interesting idea as to the different usage and adaptation of an existing building to contemporary needs. By overlaying the old structure with a light steel construction a new, modern conception of the whole with a high spatial quality for the user is achieved. A flexible use of the facility is made possible by a mobile roof construction of light steel girders and a translucent membrane. The high standard of production and montage of standardized elements is remarkable.
Das Projekt liefert eine interessante Idee zur Umnutzung und Anpassung bestehender Bausubstanz an aktuelle Bedürfnisse. Durch die Überlagerung der alten Struktur durch eine leichte Stahlkonstruktion entsteht ein neuer zeitgemässer Gesamteindruck mit einer hohen Raumqualität für die Benutzer. Die mobile Dachkonstruktion aus leichten Stahlträgern und einer lichtdurchlässigen Membran ermöglicht die flexible Nutzung der Anlage. Bemerkenswert ist der hohe Standard in der Herstellung und Montage standardisierter Elemente.
Idée intéressante pour la réaffectation de volumes existants et leur adaptation à des nouveaux besoins, le parti adopté superpose ici une construction métallique légère sur l'ancienne structure. Il en résulte un ensemble entièrement renouvelé en terme de qualité d'espace pour ses usagers. Le toit mobile, composé de poutres métalliques légères et d'une membrane translucide, permet l'utilisation flexible de cette installation, remarquablement réalisée à partir d'éléments standardisés.
