NSCC 2012 - Nordic Steel Construction Conference

Nordic Steel Construction Conference is a conference with proud traditions.
The conference was held for the first time in Stockholm in 1970 and since then with about three years apart circulated between the Nordic countries. The last conference was the 11th and was held in Malmö in 2009 and gathered around 140 participants, of which about 90 scientists and the rest were representatives of steel producers, steel wholesalers, contractors, consultants, architects, etc.

Last time the conference was organized in Norway was in 1998. Professor Per Kr. Larsen was the chairman and the organizer was the Norwegian Steel Association, in cooperation with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
Now the baton once again comes to Norway. Also this time the Norwegian Steel Association will be responsible for the practical / administrative part of the event. The scientific process, as in 1998, will be led by Professor Per Kr. Larsen, NTNU, as chairman of the Technical Committee and with Dr. Ing Bjørn Aasen as vice chairman. The technical committee will be composed of leading steel professors and researchers from the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe.

The conference will be held from 5th to 7th of September 2012 in Oslo. In recent years Oslo has undergone a major transformation with many new steel buildings and exciting architecture, which will be a part of the last day excursion.
The Nordic Steel Construction Conference is an important forum for the presentation and discussion of new results in research and new ideas for products and structures.

Norway is responsible for the arrangements in 2012 and it is a great pleasure for the Norwegian Steel Association and the University of Science and technology - NTNU to invite you to the 12:th Nordic Steel Construction Conference in Oslo, Norway.

Call for papers

Participants wishing to present a contribution are invited to submit one or
more abstracts relating to the topics in the session of the conference. The abstracts should be typewritten in English and should not exceed 250 words.
The preferred format for the abstract file is .pdf.

Abstracts - extended deadline 15. October, 2011

Abstracts must be submitted no later than October 15, 2011 to the organizing committee. The authors affiliation should be stated on the abstract. The address for abstracts is: post@stalforbund.com

Notification - November 15, 2011

Notification of acceptance of the submitted contributions will be given by November 15, 2011, together with manuscript typing instructions which should be followed in the final preparation of the manuscript.

Complete manuscript - March 31, 2012

The complete manuscript in English, including illustrations, resumé and photos of authors, must be submitted to the organizing committee no later than March 31, 2012. Accepted contributions will be presented either as oral presentations in English or in poster sessions, as decided by the Technical Committee.
