Steel isn't yet as succesful in residential buildings as it is in industrial buildings and office buildings.The European light steel association (LSK) points out the advantage of light steel profiles: easy to produce in shops from galvanized steel coils, easy to transport, easy to cut with common tools, easy to assemble with self drilling screws, steel in construction is light and 100% recyclable.
LSK has a new website www.easysteel.info which is a framework dedicated to the key players of the light steel framed construction market: Architects, engineering companys, home builders, contractors, technical advisers or an industrial suppliers (materials, tools and equipment). It invites you to discover all the possibilities the steel frame houses offer combined with the high performance level of the composite materials used in dry construction.

LSK Association is also made up of structural engineers and other design professionals to define better easy application rules. They intend to provide you with useful information: from common aspects around the Eurocode 3, part 1-3 to the publication of documents.

These actions are inspired by those achieved in the United States of America by the Steel Framing Alliance (SFA), and the Light Gauge Steel Engineers Association (LGSEA) that gathers a thousand members and of which LSK is the European correspondent
