The building achieves the largest
span in the world and yet gives the appearance of simplicity and of perfect proportion,
and does not overwhelm the observer. The optimisation of the steelwork design
appears very efficient, with the construction methods of frame and doors, in particular
developed by architect, engineer and constructor, most impressive and exciting.

The
design of this most attractive building focuses upon ecological benefits. The
use of light-reflecting methods and of a double-facade feature enhance energy
efficiency and further underlines the owners activities. The detailing of
the steelwork complements the appearance of this technologically sophisticated
building, which was completed to a fast programme. sda

The
design of this exceptional structure exhibits many examples of great engineering.
The combined skill of the architect, the structural and the mechanical engineer,
resolved many very difficult challenges, often with unique solutions both in construction,
and erection over the river. |
