Oslo Architect : Lund & Slaatto Arkitekter AS, Skøyen
| Engineer : Dr Techn Kristoffer Apeland AS, Oslo
Contractor : Alfred Andersen Mek Verksted & Støberi AS, Larvik |
This represents an important development in the potential uses of steel
construction through a structure of considerable complexity. Nevertheless
this permits the integration of a sophisticated triangular glass cladding
and environmental control system for the long-term protection of 12th
century excavated ruins.

Through the constructional
expediency of steel the architect's complex geometry is mastered and major changes
in level of the site are overcome. Steel's flexbilit also permitted the need for
design and construction to take place in parallel. |
